WE ARE A KICKSTART INTERMEDIARY - BOOK ONTO A FREE EMPLOYER'S BRIEFING
The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment.
This is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs and aims to create hundreds and thousands of new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland and Wales. The first placements are likely to be available from November.
Funding will cover for each job placement:
As an approved intermediary, we want to ensure that those employers who choose to work with us get the best experience possible and are proud that they have provided experience, knowledge and confidence to a young person at a critical time of their life.
We want to work with you to support young people to build their experience and help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart Scheme funded job.
As you can imagine, with this being a brand new initiative, we are getting a high enquiry rate , so the most efficient way to provide information is to run regular 'potential employer briefings '. On a zoom call, you can find out the details of the scheme and we'll tell you how we are organising the scheme on a UK wide basis. You'll have the chance to ask questions at the end and you can then choose whether you would like to pursue an application. If you can't wait for the briefing, the slides are displayed below.
We have already started submitting bids for placements and so you won't have to wait long before your bid is submitted. Currently we are informed that once a bid gets submitted, it can take 4 weeks to be checked for eligibility before being released to Job Centres closest to your placement location. Don't expect this to be a quick process - it's not.
The Kickstart scheme is expected to run until December 2021 so you have plenty of time to take up the opportunity. You can bid for as many places you can offer and at the end of a placement , you can offer the place to another person.
